Job market is tight. Very few willing to invest in entry level talent with just certs. Too expensive to train and too many low skill check chasers.

That will change again but don't know how soon. I just finished my Masters in Cybersecurity. I landed an internal promotion pretty quickly but it was largely my connections and proactive involvement in external projects that landed me the job. The degree and multiple mid level certs got me on the radar.
