Guard/reserves can give you a little boost. Paychecks won't be much, but it can help with school and help you to go to school debt-free.
There are also some jobs that have a fairly low threshold. Going into tech doesn't have to mean "software engineer", there are other options out there and some computer-related but not necessarily tech jobs (data analysis). I hear some medical jobs, like medical coding (not programming coding) are pretty good. I've also heard that air traffic control stuff can be good. I'm just throwing out things I've heard, I haven't validated any of this so take it for what it's worth.
