There is truth to this. I wired for in-wall and you are rather limited on power output vs. pedestals. Although I was
rather limited on funding for pedestals so it wasn't a deal breaker.
The biggest issue I ran into was ATMOS wasn't around when I wired my house, so I didn't have any center ceiling mounted speaker ports. So there is no way I can get ATMOS with my setup unless I can get some form of wireless ceiling speaker setup.
