The best team in the NBA, the Cavs, are 18-3, and have a 85.7% win percentage.
The worst team in the NBA, the Wizards, are 2-16, and have an 11.1% win percentage.
There is no chance that the talent gap is that wide. It comes down to teams knowing that the best way to rebuild quickly is to luck into a franchise player, and the odds drastically increase with more losses. It's terrible for the game. This goes without saying.
The NBA needs to fix this yesterday. Give everyone in the lottery the same number of ping pong balls. Get rid of the play in tournament so that teams don't deliberately tank to not get in the playoffs as a 10 seed, so they can get in the lottery instead. Heck, reduce the number of teams in the playoffs to 12 total. Do something. It is beyond pathetic.
