attitude so explosively. There's a good lesson inside.
They were never as good as they thought in those 3/4 loss seasons in a weak league. They never had the fanbase to be a national power. They are a regional commuter school that thought they were something else entirely. They fell into the PAC on accident only because of religious bigotry, and seemed to fail to understand that all their gifts were received based upon BYUs past success and fan support going back decades. The very existence of that fanbase itself is fueled primarily by BYU hate. Everything they have they owe to BYU. It's truly bizarre to think how they could be so off base.
They were dealt a better hand than they deserved, and instead of just enjoying the run for what it was, they've gone ballistic about the next round being a better shuffled deck. In essence, they are living the life of a spoiled child that is coming into adulthood and isn't happy about being in the real workforce.
Here's my takeaway: manage expectations, live within your means, stay humble, show some gratitude. Utah has done none of that, but it's something we all should aspire to in our lives.
