Just curious- what style is the opener? The types I am familiar with are either wall mounted or they hang right above

the door track- in both cases you would just need a normal ladder. Sounds like you have something different.

Most garage door openers have a little wire for the antenna.. if you have one, find it and move it.

99% of 'remote' issues are signal (antenna) and Battery (not enough signal power)

There is usually a light that flashes when something is wrong. The number of times it flashes will indicate the problem

Do you use LED bulbs in it? Those can cause issues sometimes

It hangs above the door track, to be clear the only reason I will need a big ladder is because my dang garage is so high

I have the same issue with mine when the sunlight is very bright and from a specific angle, based on time of day
