There is usually a light that flashes when something is wrong. The number of times it flashes will indicate the problem
Find the light and see if it flashes when the door won’t go down. Then check your manual to see what it means.
You can also sometimes change the code- channel-frequency that opens the door. Maybe your getting interference at that code-channel-frequency for some reason.

I don't see any flashing ever, I know what you mean, like if something is in the way of the safety laser you get
