KY's salary or whatever. And I have heard folks speculate that this Coach's Circle was "supplementing" the funds coaches were receiving from BYU. So, it can sound like the donors have some separate relationship with coaches. They don't, obviously. I just think Elder Gilbert was making it clear that BYU is in control of its relationship with its coaches, and that the coaches do not answer to any donors, for all of the "culture" related reasons Elder Gilbert talked about.

I think some people are tying themselves in knots arguing about where the money is coming from when it's really more clear when you think about the contractual relationships.
