Couldn't create a wide enough gap. Now BYU is on equal footing. I think it is that ultimately BYU fan base is bigger and has deeper pockets. We see what happened with bball and that their fans don't really care for the team unless they're winning.
The fact that they have sort of been exposed this year as well. And again, they were 4-2 and couldn't fill the stadium and fans were leaving during the second quarter. Kyle Whittingham maybe retires this year but won't go more than two seasons. Who knows what happens after that and if Scalley can sustain their program. Harlan has shown he has the ability to tank athletic departments too. There are a lot of signs that Utah could be in for a long tough stretch.
