towards his unwillingness to address the defensive coaching issues. 2020 on the other hand, even as a blue goggled fan, I believe was more successful due to the caliber of talent we were playing against. It feels like everyone involved in that team (except TA) regressed back towards their pre2020 form after a year or two (grimes, ZW, Mateos, BYU overall, etc.)…… now 4 years removed, P4 conference inclusion, etc. and BYU seems to have improved a lot now and that goes to Kalani. I’ve really really wanted Kalani to succeed at BYU, so this season is fantastic and I believe so far is showing his capability as a head coach—which is to attract and surround yourself with other great coaches who get the team to execute at a high level.
