I agree - that was the one play I REALLY disliked.

We had a pass play dialed up on that play. The play clock ran down and we snapped the ball right before Kalani called a timeout. We showed pass - then went to the bench and changed it to a run. Again, I don't like the call, but ARod obviously was not being "conservative" - he thought we would catch them off-guard. And if we even gained 3-4 yards, they were setting up for a 4th down attempt.

This wasn't about "trusting the kicker".

Sometimes plays don't work.
