the ball (which we were bad at all day) and tried to trust our kicker from like 40 yards. He missed and put us in the position to where we could lose the game. (NEVER TRUST A KICKER!)
That is "play not to lose" mentality. You could see it in the team and the way they carried themselves all 2nd half. All of the sudden they had some adversity and handled it really poorly. Kingston looked like he was in shock and so did the rest of the team. So if you want to blame poor execution - be my guest - but there was a lot more going on than simply poor execution. It was a real and palpable mindset shift and it could and should have cost us the game.
Same thing happened to Alabama. They should be grateful that their freshman phenom made the play of his life when they were reeling on the mat or they actually would have lost that one.
