I took my son off our health insurance, and the premium didn’t drop.
On my bill, the insurer line items the cost of each person. My son is the oldest of 4 kids. The oldest three kids had a line item cost.

My youngest daughter had a charge listed as zero.

When I canceled my son from the insurance, I assumed it would drop the rate, to a number equal to his portion of the overall bill.

Instead, The total monthly premium stayed exactly same as it was before and now my youngest daughter has a charge listed for herself.

Does this mean that all kids beyond the third one are free?

Why wouldn’t it be cheaper to insure 5 rather than 6 people?
