My experience at utah games (as a BYU fan) from a dude who has been to quite a few (me)
As one who has been to more than a handful of utah games, vs BYU and others, and always sitting with different people, I've seen a HUGE difference in the experience based on the level of seats.

I have a buddy with $ who brings me to the games with him at times. The experience in the donor seats is great. No problems, respectful, and a good time. I've never had any negative interactions in that situation.

On the other hand...

When I've gone and sat in the "cheap" seats, or rather, any of the other seats in the joint that you can just buy online or whatever, the experience has SUCKED. Horribly. Cussing, taunting, vulgarity, drunks, all of it. Well beyond just an opposing fan experience in a rivalry game, and by far the worst fan behavior I've seen. My dad was hit in the head (on two occasions!) by chunks of ice. A dude put his nose in my face and screamed, "F YOU BYU!!!" over and over, pretty much begging to be hit. Name calling, taunting, and just horrible behavior. Just ugly stuff. So much that a handful of years back I swore I'd never do it again.

I you're a utah fan and want to know what makes people hate you, I'd offer a suggestion.

Attend a BYU game in provo wearing your utah gear. You can sit anywhere, it doesn't matter. Take your kids. Return and report.
then
Attend a Utah game in BYU gear. See what happens. Leave the kids at home. Return and report.

There is a reason utah fans have the reputation that they do, and it's not because of the people in the high dollar donor seats.
