deplorable, especially in their interactions with BYU fans. On a personal level, I have witnessed poor treatment of BYU fans up at Rice Eccles. Each time I have witnessed it I have done my best to stop it. Sometimes I have been successful and sometimes I have not. I sincerely apologize to those of you who have experienced bad treatment from Utah fans. While I cheer for Utah’s sports teams, I am a brother in the faith with you and love the institution of BYU and what it stands for. Sometimes I wish I could change allegiances in sports, but I have been unsuccessful. Too many good memories and experiences with Utah football and basketball going back to the 80’s. I blame none of you for your feelings towards those Utah fans that behave poorly, which are many.
