Do you need an MBA to achieve your professional / person goal(s)?
Can you reach the same outcome without the MBA? It may just be a waste of time / money if you don't need it to ultimately reach your goal. Or it may be the opposite. I seriously considered an MBA for a number of years and ended up doing law school instead. I was doing grad school for the purpose of getting a better job and to get me in front of companies / firms. Based on my resume at the time, it was a good option. I don't regret it, but if I could go back in time I may do things differently. It's hard to say.

There's a lot of variables to consider. I have friends / colleagues with MBAs from BYU, Texas, Ivy League schools, etc. Many of them chose an MBA because they were trying to change fields or because their career trajectory required it. I knew another guy who determined he could get to the same destination without a grad degree (it would just be a waste of time and money). It's been years since we've talked, but he has seemed to do just fine professionally without it.

Can you find a job in your desired location in your field of choice / specialty without it? If so, it may not be worth it. Maybe you can't progress further towards your goals without it? So in my mind it depends.
