Yep, this burns kids pretty quick. There are lots of ways to get kids playing
time without jeopardizing the outcome of the game. Knowing how and when to substitute for the different players' abilities is an important part of coaching at the youth level. Coaches who know how to do this usually end up with great win/loss records and a team full of happy players because they all got to contribute and play for a coach that gave more then lip-service to "effort in practice". It also helps the really talented players because they learn accountability early on and that playing time is earned by effort and not just ability. Too many youth coaches, and high school, just play players based on the "eye-test" and their measurements of athletic ability and talent. Sends all the wrong messages to the players...
