We don't want to set a time and then have a patient cancel or add on an urgent case and then have to call the other 8 patients on the schedule 3x to provide a different start time. So everyone gets a date with an AM/PM but no set arrival time until the day before when the schedule is mostly solidified.

Of course, my longest surgical cases are 20 minutes so even if something happens, usually don't get too far behind.
