I was told insurance companies want to see CPAP tried before authorizing surgery
That may have been why the doctor was going that route, but really some of that stuff just doesn't work. I have been on a CPAP for a while, so hoping I can move into the surgery. When I first looked into it the doctor said my weight was at the upper limit where it would be effective and suggested losing weight before trying. I have come down around 40lbs (probably have another 40 or so to go be really healthy) and am keeping it off, so hopefully there won't be other roadblocks. Still a bit on the fence, but if I can get it approved and done before the end of the year I may pull the trigger on it.
