Part of me wonders if this is in small part of this, is the result of Shane Reese being a baller and knows that the expansion of college football is important and will continue, and that if BYU can be in the upper conferences it will raise the profile of BYU / the church and that part of doing that, he needs to raise the academic profile of BYU - hear me out

I know we often poke fun at the U because they think they're going to the Big 10. However, you could make a pretty good case that BYU is a bigger brand and a better school than the U. Pretty sure that all current Big 10 member schools have medical schools. Which might be why utah thinks they’d be included. I wonder if Shane Reese is pushing for this because he doesn't want to be left out in obscurity should something else crazy happen. We know he's a sports guy, so maybe he had a hand in this?

Even if its not, im ready for the Russel M Nelson School of Medicine to be one of the top in the country, with how many pre-med students BYU puts out, it should be a really powerful one pretty quickly!
