travels a lot doesn't mean they are blowing all their money on experiences instead of saving for the future. The average car payment for a used car is over $500 per month. I drive an old car and spend that $500 a month on travel instead. Last year I went on a 20 day around the world trip for $1,800 total. I left the country 4 different times last year and had several weekend trips within the country as well. Points helped make all of that more affordable. Some people are probably spending too much of their money on travel, others might fit more of my situation.
