If the ACC gets most of its vital organs removed in the next couple years (which seems likelier by the day), there's a good chance that whatever remains of that conference will want to expand. WSU and OSU could then join with no exit fees and they could add to the western contingent of Stanford and Cal (which I'm assuming are not going anywhere).

Not great options regardless, but I think that's a better course to chart than just immediately resigning yourself to the MW.
