Vannini: The MWC/PAC 2 merger is no longer a given.
There is a growing sentiment that the OSU and Wazzu are just bidding their time to see if the ACC will lose members and look to them as replacement.
Some, within the MWC, object to being viewed (by OSU/Wazzu) as a fallback option.
With CFP expansion, the path to the playoff is clear, with or without them, so why bother.
The MWC placed 6 teams in the NCAA and won’t beg to join the PAC 2.
