Even if you're cheap like me, rent a Uhaul, pack everything up yourself over
the month before the move, and then hire a few guys on each end for a few hundred dollars to load/unload the truck. I've done this method several times now. You can move for around 2K total. If that's not immediately in the budget try to plan ahead and save. This option should be financially feasible for at least 75% of most church members who are moving in the United States. If you really can't do it, then sure ask for some help. But do as much as you can ahead of time.

Our ward has 500+ members, but the children, elderly, less active members, and most of the women do not help much of the physical service. So our EQ is currently very burned out becuase you have the same fifteen or so 25-50 year olds showing up to every move. So then when there's an actual unplanned need, it's very difficult to find anyone to help. Ou
