I watched my son struggle through most of his season with the steeplechase then his last two races, everything clicked and he had two consecutive PR’s cutting 14 seconds off his previous best and qualifies for NCAA regionals (his time would have been 4th or 5th at the Big12 championships).

Goes to regionals in Arkansas and struggles again to a disappointing time for what he was hoping to do. Sometimes you get in a groove and it is awesome to see but hard to keep that level consistently.

I guess you see that with batting averages or shooting percentages as well in other sports so not that unreasonable.
