Corrigan's improvement from the NCAA finals to today seems unprecedented
In three weeks, he went from a 9th place finish at the NCAA championships with a time of 8:29, to today's time of 8:13, which was not only Olympic qualifying, but also would have won the NCAA championship by a full 11 seconds. Perhaps there's a historical analog to this, but I'm not aware of what it would be.
