There were four family members/relatives with me. We’d had a productive morning and had caught all but a couple of our allotted limit of 40 trout.
Another boat with a small motor came cruising by at slow speed looking for a good spot to drop anchor.
“Any luck?” a man in the other boat asked. “Oh, a few,” my dad replied. I was so happy about our success that I couldn’t believe my dad’s low key response.
“A fewww!!!???,” I blurted out loudly for all nearby fishermen to hear. My dad and older brother instantly hushed me in angry whispers. “What are you trying to do—get everyone to fish our spot?” I quickly realized my mistake and shut my mouth in embarrassment.
