to him by Pope — is clearly a confession of guilt.
The details in his reaction showed he did NOT think Barcello was a worthy talent to take his scholarship. It also was a clear indicator that Pope wasn't gonna let him play backup PG duties as he had his Frosh season.
He clearly wasn't upset with that fact Pope had used "his" scholarship — so much as WHO he'd used it on. His narrative since has been an utter spin job.
The real issue with Nick is that he'd been coddled by Rose. The Program might've taken it's tough-love pill in Nick's behalf, but Nick himself didn't see his year Probation in the correct light, I think it's pretty clear.
To retro-actively castigate Pope for that is pretty sad, my friend.
That so many of our fan base have this bizarre loathing toward Mark Pope is gonna surely give Mr Emery a space to continue to perpetuate his vindictive lie against a good man. He's been intermittently free in doing this largely because he knows he's always had a sympathetic anti-Pope ear in the fan base, but also because he knows Mark Pope isn't ever gonna descend into the mud to set him straight.
Check yourselves, people. And don't be foolish sponsors of such a dark lie.
