Now that we see a more full picture of Pope, how he handles things, more of his pros and cons... Was Nick correct?
At the time many of us (and let's not bother with receipts... It was understandable at the time) wrote off his complaints as a troubled kid with massive sour grape issues. Going through a bad divorce, with an ac to grind...
Not saying those things aren't still relevant, but was there more truth to his complaints than we were willing to accept at the time?
Do I, and others, owe Nick an apology for assumptions made at the time? Was Nick a real voice of warning that should have better prepared us for how Pope left?
I'm not going to spend too much thought on it, but in retrospect it seems like Nick wasn't just blowing smoke. He saw the negatives we all overlooked and dismissed at the time. Perhaps he was too focused on them... But in any case, I guess we shouldn't have been surprised at how things finally went down.
