Her husband passed away when the oldest was just a teenager. I knew a couple of her sons. One of them was my friend's dad. They were good, good people.

Every one of her sons was well over six feet tall, and she was only about 5'3.

When the oldest got his driver's license, and was a lot bigger than his mom, he figured he didn't need to listen to rules about curfew anymore.

So one night when she heard him come home super late, she grabbed a length of 2x4 and stood behind the front door. As he walked through the door she laid him out cold.

None of her boys ever tried to push that limit again. 😂

That was a different time.
