Depends on the circumstances. For everyday training, usually one in the morning
with breakfast.

For racing, it depends on the timing. For a Saturday 11AM race, I typically drink:

- One on Friday morning with breakfast
- One on Friday night before bed
- One on Saturday morning with breakfast

They're 1,000mg of sodium per shot, so I typically only drink one per day. But I'm a salty sweater, and as I mentioned, I've come to a standstill at races with muscle cramps. Pre-loading like that has totally resolved it. During a race, I use other things (I like Infinit Jet Fuel) where sodium is a component but not the primary goal.

I've had muscle cramps for years, regularly at night, etc. Since starting LMNT, I haven't had a single cramp (except when I haven't had an LMNT within a day or so). Amazing contrast in my experience. My oldest son has seen similar results (although he has typically only has cramps during races).

For longer things (like Rim to Rim last fall), I'll pre-load as well and then drink one LMNT during, but for regular training, I'm more carb-focused and rely on my daily LMNT to keep things in balance.
