I think one issue is that if you buy this year you get to lock in those seats for at least a few years. It seems wise
to buy more than you would otherwise want to preserve your option for future years. If you don't buy them this year, then you most likely won't have a chance to buy them in the future.
I think one possible solution is to charge more for the tickets. People would be less likely to buy seats they don't really need if the prices were higher.

Are you a legacy? I’ve been told it won’t show all available seats if you aren’t legacy until they are done w/ those.
