I think this is a fair ask. "We appreciate your efforts at compensating us for the injury that soured our weekend.
Would you also be willing to consider providing us with 3 nights to stay at your hotel so we can redo our weekend for our son to enjoy?" Something along those lines. I would be totally comfortable with that, but not much more. They've offered a fair deal that I'd be happy with. This would just be icing on the cake.

The family obviously didn’t think it was risk even though they knew it was damaged. They still chose to use the shower.
