Because it is good for kids to play on a team, work through struggles, and make friends. Rec level sports are important

for kids and your attitude sucks.

Playing in a team is important for kids development, especially boys. And you can develop a life long love of a sport even if you are bad.

Social development and exercise are other things served by kids playing sports.

Good coaches work with those kids and find ways to make it work. Bad coaches blame the parents for signing them up.
