That’s why I mentioned late 70’s early 80’s as the changing point. Wayne Howard

and Fassel tried to ramp it up in football but it didn’t take on the popular appeal and “in your face” hatred that we experience now. Mostly because we were beating them so much we ignored them and few of the current trashy fans had the motivation to jump on board. It wasn’t trendy.
