“40 years ago the percentage of wealth as a percentage of gdp controlled by people under the age of 40 was 19%, now it’s 9. We have decided to transfer a trillion and a half dollars from young people to old people in the form of social security. And this is the wealthiest generation in the history of the planet. So social security is essentially an upgrade from carnival to crystal cruises for nana and papa. Meanwhile young people have seen their wealth cut in half.”
I’d point to that as something that was voted on that has stuck it to Millennials and Gen Zers. Boomers enjoy mocking younger generations for griping about inflation, etc. I’d love to see what the greatest generation and prior would have to say about the boomer+ age groups that gripe about their cruise packages, their 2nd homes or vacation homes having a plumbing issue and their Medicare not paying for regular massage visits (yes I’ve heard all of these).
Every generation has its issues/gripes. Most are probably legit. It’s okay to let people express a little frustration at times and it can be therapeutic to know others are in your same boat.
