Ed Eyestone talked about CC team. They look to compete for a top spot nationally.
One question for Kalani was why not let Oldroyd kick a field goal at end of game when game was over. He said that he wanted to practice end of game 4th quarter plays we might need in the future. He felt like some of the Oregon coaches were annoyed they were taking timeouts etc. At the end of the game he apologized to Lanning who said he completely understood--Kalani was trying to help his team get better.
Lanning called to apologize about the chants. Kalani said they'd heard it all the time.
Said he told players they can show how tough they were by leaving the game and smiling, being kind to fans and family — I liked that. Said LaVell taught that.
The other interesting thing was that he mentioned talking to some Oregon coaches after and they said they purposely held their o-line and running formations out against Eastern Washington so BYU wouldn't have film. Not having Mahe, Mariner, and Batty hurt as well.
He was critical of the teams angles and tackling-- but took responsibility.
Said Batty and Mariner are good to go this weekend.
Said Puka practicing more but no official word yet. I got the sense Puka would play but I'm not sure. Said Gunner looks 100% but has to be cleared by medical personel. He seems annoyed at that whole process.
Said he wanted to make Wyoming question why they scheduled the game or something. I liked that.
He also definitely didn't want to be there lol. Don't blame him.
The rest was kinda general questions and coach speak.
