And I am not sure why you keep bringing up Algeier.. He was a running back in HS
He was recruited as a running back at BYU then he was later moved to the defense, then moved back to the offense.
I don't think your point is demonstrating what you think it is...
This is Algeier's history:
In his first year at BYU in 2018, Allgeier played in four games and had nine carries for 49 yards. In 2019 he moved from running back to linebacker. He played in all 13 games that season recording 26 tackles and 0.5 sacks on defense and 119 yards on 17 carries on offense. Allgeier moved back to running back in 2020 and played in all 11 games with eight starts. He finished the year with 1,130 rushing yards on 150 carries with 13 touchdowns. He returned as BYU's starting running back in 2021. On December 28, 2021, Algeier announced that he would forgo his remaining two years of eligibility and enter the draft.

Those 50 or 60 'worse' DCs just might be better with BYU's resources too instead of on a G5 Sun Belt team.
