I read your post. Did you? Vs CCU, the offense was terrible. Worse than any
other CCU opponent. Coaches wasting timeouts did not help, either.
I don’t think he claimed that the defense was amazing. He just pointed out that Tuiaki gets unfairly scapegoated by the echo chamber - which is absolutely true.
The defense was far from perfect, but performed better than CCU other opponents.
The echo chamber forgets, as well, that CCU came in with an extremely explosive offense and a very unique one to defend and that BYU had neatly zero prep time. The defense did a reasonably good job vs that offense.z
The CCU defense was their weak spot coming in and it was expected that the BYU offense would roll the tiny little CCU DL. But, we didn’t. We should have been running it down their thrusts.
