It wasn't. His lack of qualifications to be HC are why he was not hired. He may
become qualified some day - not now. Look at his resume. Basically all at USU. Going to BSU as a position coach with duties helping the head coach under a different system with different coaches will be good for his career. Then maybe a move somewhere else as a DC in a few years. Then, if successful at all of that, somebody will make him a head coach.
