I don’t know if you’ll be right but I think it would be foolish to overlook this
unfortunate possibility. Hence I’m in favor of scheduling more tough games. Get Marshall and Liberty or Army.

I don’t think BYU can afford to play prevent defense or try to run out the clock with their schedule with 0 P5 opponents and 0 G5 opponents currently in the top 25. Not with the B10 and PAC12 getting into the meat of their schedule. BYU owes a large part of their fast rise in the polls to the lack of P5 teams playing earlier. Maybe Boise State will get back into the top 25, but that’s not a given; and it’ll be at least 6 weeks in the past when the CFP makes their selections, if not longer due to delays. BYU needs to make some good impressions as late in the season as possible. SOS matters a lot to the CFP committee.
