BYU-Idaho is currently struggling with lack of academic draw for faculty.

Being a BYU-Idaho faculty member really requires a strong buy-in to BYU-Idaho's paradigm. No research. No graduate studies. Have to live in Rexburg. Strict honor code. Dogmatic administration. No sports.

If BYU was castrated in the way that BYU-Idaho is, I think BYU would have issues finding faculty.

Utah GPAs are silly. Like 70% of Lone Peak students graduated with high honors
