50% is pretty low when you consider the size of the school and the demographics
of those that apply. It’s not desirable at all for a large percentage of the general population to apply due to the honor code. If it were, I would expect the acceptance rate to be much lower than 50.
Looks at average SAT/ACT for Michigan, for instance. It is similar but Michigan has < 30% acceptance. And it’s a much bigger school.
