I still think that BYU will either be in a P5 Conference someday (likely the Big XII), or have the same access as Notre Dame. It is simply bound to happen eventually. The better question is whether I care if they are in a conference or not. With schedules like this year, I really don't. BYU can still make independence work, and I'm one of the few that like that idea. The schedule has been improving every year, and BYU is making more and more out of the hand that they have been dealt. I like playing new teams every year and going to new places to watch them play. If they consistently win against schedules like they have this year, then they will be included in the top tier of college football. Whether they are in a conference or not, winning is what matters. Just win. Everything else will take care of itself. That is the reality. Consequently, even though I still think they will get an invite someday, it doesn't matter to me whether they are in a conference or not. If you are fan, you should be doing the things you suggested regardless of conference affiliation.
