The wussification of the american male
I have continued to see the American Male turned into a pansy. Everything from skinny jeans to extreme political correctness has neutered the American male. It used to be that strong men were revered and looked up to, now, these same men are seen as chauvinistic and 'old fashioned'. I had a long conversation with a group of millenial aged interns yesterday at work and was really surprised at their perspective on different leaders in our company. They labeled the strong alpha male leaders in some departments as 'old fashioned' and described their leadership style as 'too aggressive' because they were 'too domineering'. It was really surprising. Are we as a society becoming too soft? If we had WWII again, I fear we would get destroyed. This rising generation of men are not impressive at all. Too much emphasis on being creative and emotional and far too little emphasis on being physically fit and disciplined is creating a very soft group of men. Maybe too many video games? I am continuing to be underwhelmed. In my USAFR assignments I am seeing the exact same trends. Maybe I am just getting old. It is alarming to say the least.
