I agree: The examples cited by the
people I was visiting with were not jerks. The problem the interns had was they felt that a leader should make decisions by democratic means in all cases no matter what. When they pointed this out to the leader, he politely explained that his preferred method for making decision was by counsel but at times, leaders need to make tough decisions and invited the people on the teams to support the decision. They termed this behavior 'micro-aggression', whatever that means. The simple fact is, these 'men' had never been exposed to this kind of leadership. Did they not have fathers in the home? Did they not ever play on a team with a coach? Did they never participate in scouting? Heaven forbid how they would do in a military leadership chain of command.
