- What if you were the parents of the 14 year-old girl who was terrified when she was singled out and taken to a room without her parents for an extended period of time and emerged saying, "Mom they did bad things to me" (one TSA agent was quoted as saying, “It’s okay to search children sexually because they’re potential terrorists”)
- Or the father of the 3 year-old girl who was giving a pat down while screaming "stop touching me!"
- Or the son of an elderly man who was humiliated in the airport when the TSA agents doing an invasive putdown broke his urostomy bag, leaving him covered in urine.
- Or the husband of a wife who had a TSA agent put a hand on her breast and ask to see the prosthetic underneath (again, in the crowded airport).
All of these occurred - and thousands more stories. That IS terror and it IS important to discuss it today because the events of 9/11 are directly used to justify this practice. It's a lot more than a "nuisance" - it's unlawful search and seizure and we are allowing the deaths that occurred on 9/11 to justify it. It's wrong and it absolutely can and should be discussed today.
