Pretty funny.
I am happy we got him, but he is no doubt a flyer. Players of the year in many sports are not recruited highly just like many players of the year in college. Ty Detmer was the best player in college arguably for 3 straight years. He was drafted in the 9th round (no longer exists). If you don't think the same doesn't hold true for high school sports then you don't follow recruiting closely.
Now some fly under the radar, especially at the high school level. But the fact that he is a Player of the Year in the highest division of football in Utah and still not offered is not a good sign. It means everyone has seen him and knows about him, but no one decided to offer him a scholarship. Hopefully it works out for us, but when everyone else doesn't see what our coaches see you wonder if the other 130 aren't right.
