collegiate level and then at the pro level. He panned out well in both places. I am not saying this guy will not pan out either. I like his tape. I am fine with his signing, I haven't complained about it once.

But this is not a 4 star recruit. He isn't universally loved. Yes some 4 stars don't turn out. But their percentage is so much higher than no stars.

Will he work out? I hope so. Nikola Jokic was a 2nd round pick. That doesn't mean that every time you take a 2nd round guy you expect him to be Nikola Jokic. It is more of a flyer where you hope your instincts are better than everyone else's. It happens, but not often. But it is OK to take that chance.

Also Ty Detmer was one of the highest rated players in his class and John Beck was also very highly rated. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from.
