I don't find it "silly" as you condescendingly say, for a kid who is won a State Championship, is the Player of the year in his level, Region MVP, two sport athlete, threw for 3,400+ yards, 38 TDs to 4 INTs, and very smart (looking now beyond the football field but probably has some translation/overlap).
I don't know why he hasn't been more highly recruited, but if you didn't have a star system and looked at his High School accomplishments, would you turn this guy away?
There is a lot to like and again from a High School standpoint, he has achieved everything you possibly can. Nothing is missing from his achievements.
